The Standard Market Company is a gourmet food retail business that has had success with their businesses: Fine Fruit stores; Sevilo Delicatessen; Flour Bakery; Prime Specialty Meats and Quench Juice Bars, which are located at James St/ Fortitude Valley, Gasworks Plaza/Newstead and Ferry Rd Markets/ Southport.

Following the success of our Flour Bakery at Ferry Rd Markets, Southport, we have opened our second bakery at Gasworks Plaza - Newstead. This bakery specializes in Artisan breads and specialty pastry products. We are seeking a & experienced Baker.

What does the position involve?

  • Night shifts between 12pm – 9am
  • Full time role of 38 hours minimum per week
  • Roster which includes weekend nights
  • Baking gourmet, artisan breads including sourdoughs, Casalingas, gluten free ranges, Turkish breads, pies and baguettes
  • Hand molding skills and good knowledge of different techniques – no pre-mixes used

To be successful in the position you must meet the following criteria:

  • Experiences Baker (Tradesperson/Qualified)
  • Experience with gourmet, artisan bakeries
  • Passionate about food and baking
  • Friendly personality and able to work well in a team environment
  • Reliable travel to Newstead
  • Ability to be flexible with shift patters
  • The position will be available for immediate start.
